Day 97:
The natives are getting
restless. The subzero temperatures
outside have kept us confined within the four walls of our dwelling (plus the
overhead garage door is frozen to the ground keeping our vehicle trapped as
well). These three miniature humans I am
imprisoned with were great company at first, but they are starting to turn on me. Snuggles and hugs have turned into moans and growls.
I do believe that our Play-doh is all played
out, we have built every possible structure with legos and other various
blocks, and even the dolls are tired of being played with. Spending time in the kitchen has tamed these
beasts a bit, but there are only so many cookies we can bake and dinners we can
cook. Making snow ice cream was a good
use of resources and mighty tasty!
These little beings must be on
the edge of insanity because they are fighting TO DO chores. I never thought I would see the day that I
had to make sure each had an equal opportunity to dust, vacuum, do the dishes, clean
the bathrooms, put away toys, and clean their rooms. Thank goodness the continuous laundry is
almost done because our ration of soap is running dangerously low! We have all also gotten caught up in elaborate
toy organization projects.
Our food supplies are well
stocked but I just realized that our toilet paper supply has fallen below an
acceptable level! I don’t believe
telling my companions to just ‘hold it’ will be an option.
Oh dear...
I seem to have made a slight miscalculation… we are only on HOUR 97, it only feels like we are approaching 100 days of captivity!
